a telenobela

i'm from the philippines. for the past 2 years or so there's been a social phenomenon here when it comes to television - the telenobela. it started as mexican soap operas dubbed in filipino. the most popular was Marimar, the lead actress was Thalia. yes, the Thalia that is now a singer in the US.

the tv networks saw how viewers were getting hooked on the twist and turns of the fictional characters lives. and they started to make their own versions. because of their popularity, i decided to give it a chance and watch a couple of episodes. and i got hooked.

simple translation: telenobela = soap opera

somehow watching the drama of other people's lives is intriguing. it makes you thankful that it's not your own. but at the same time you envy them, in a way i can't explain.

well ever since i can remember my life has been full of drama. i started to call my life a "telenobela life" when i graduated from university. it was only then that one by one, month by month there would be something that would happen. happy, sad, annoying, enjoyable, anything. and for the past two years it's been this way for me.

at the moment i'm sick of it! i'd like a simple life wherein i go to work, go out with friends, and basically live a normal life. but, alas, that is wishful thinking.

hmm...where should i start? love life? family? friends? GOD! there's drama in every one of those topics.

i'll think about it...
